Captain Video and his Video Rangers (1949)

(Part 1/3)

(Part 2/3)

(Part 3/3)

In today's adventure, the Space Captain and his Video Ranger must save the universe from the evil Dr. Pauli... and low production values.

Captain Video and his Video Rangers was the first science fiction program on television. The quality and acting seem quite poor (especially by today's standards) but in the creator's defense, this show was broadcast LIVE.

What's My Line (1956) w/ Desi Arnaz, Randolph Churchill

(Part 1/3)

(Part 2/3)

(Part 3/3)

An episode of the popular 1950's television game show "What's My Line?" This episode includes as guests actor Desi Arnaz, writer (later politician) Randolph Churchill, and hollywood leading lady Kim Novac.
Complete with original advertising!

"Lucy and Ricky" enjoy Phillip Morris (1950s)

A Phillip Morris endorsement originally from the end of an episode of I "Love Lucy." Often in 1950's programming, "integrated" ads were preferred, and the show would never actually be "interrupted," instead in the beginning, middle, and end, the show would cut to the characters themselves endorsing a product. When aired today, these sections of the show are cut and replaced with modern advertising (for obvious reasons).

Men of the World (1950)

An excellent period piece on colonialism. "Men of the World" was produced by the British Army.

Directed by Roland Clarke, and produced by the Crown Film Unit.
